21G

The rock band 21g, also known as “21 Grams,” was active from 2014 to 2019, blending a classic rock aesthetic with the talents of members from different generations of Japanese rock. Led by Geno, the masked frontman and alter-ego of Himura Tsuyoshi, 21g also included ex-SIAM SHADE bassist NATCHIN, “girls metal” guitarist MIYAKO (Now LOVEBITES) , and drummer Yoshi. Known for their raw, old-school rock sound, the band avoided digital synths, focusing instead on a traditional four-piece setup to deliver a rich and unfiltered rock experience. The name “21g” is inspired by the supposed weight of the human soul, a concept derived from early 20th-century experiments by Duncan MacDougall.
