Chizuru Segawa (瀬川千鶴) is a distinguished guitarist recognized for her significant contributions to the jazz fusion genre. As a member of THE JAZZ AVENGERS, an all-female ensemble established in 2021 featuring drummer Senri Kawaguchi, keyboardist Marie Takeda, and bassist Juna Serita, she plays a vital role in their acclaimed dynamic performances that intricately blend jazz fusion with pop sensibilities, expanding the genre’s reach to a broader audience. In her solo career, Segawa unveiled her debut full-length album One Step Closer on March 13, 2024, which encompasses ten tracks entirely composed by her, with arrangements meticulously crafted in collaboration with jazz guitarist Koichi Yabori. The album also features contributions from notable musicians such as drummer Satoshi Bandoh, bassist Yoshihiro Naruse, and organist Kiyomi Otaka.
