Cyntia is an all-female heavy metal band that emerged in Tokyo in 2011 and is widely regarded as a trailblazer in the Girls Metal Band Boom, being among the first to secure a contract with a major record label, Victor Entertainment, in 2013. Their musical style is a dynamic fusion of heavy metal, hard rock, and power metal, distinguished by compelling vocals and complex instrumentation. In December 2017, the band went on an indefinite hiatus following guitarist Yui’s diagnosis of focal dystonia. Despite this, updates from their X account indicate that three members continue to perform occasionally under the name CYNTIA.
