Rie, known as Suzaku, is a distinguished Japanese guitarist and composer recognized for her innovative contributions to the heavy metal and rock fusion genres. She has firmly established herself as a leading female solo guitarist within Japan’s dynamic heavy metal scene. Rie’s musical journey commenced at the tender age of four when she embarked on 17 years of electone studies at Yamaha Music School. In 2004, she formed the melodic power metal band Synapse, which thrived for three years, showcasing her prowess. Additionally, Rie was an integral part of the electric instrumental ensemble Hot Style and played a vital role as a support guitarist for various artists. Furthermore, she is the founding force behind the fusion band Muses.
