Utsu-P (鬱P, meaning “Depression-P”), born on December 1, 1990, is a prominent musician, producer, and bassist recognized for his innovative contributions to the Vocaloid metal genre. Hailing from Nagoya and currently residing in Setagaya, Utsu-P embarked on his musical career in June 2008, crafting compositions that seamlessly integrate intense metal elements with Vocaloid technology. His distinctive sound is marked by a bold fusion of heavy metal instrumentation and Vocaloid vocals, skillfully employing shouts and growls that showcase the Vocaloid software’s capabilities. Utsu-P’s works are characterized by downtuned guitars, powerful basslines, and intricate, thought-provoking lyrics that explore themes of melancholy and existential inquiry.
